SCANNING:

Click on the UMAX Astra shortcut on the desktop of Yoruk.

Choose Scanner and Camera Wizard.

Click Next on the first screen of the Wizard.

Picture Type:

Depending on what you are scanning, change the document type from B/W Document to one of the different color settings. If you want to increase the dpi settings, click custom. From there you can choose your dpi and picture type.

DPI:

Dpi refers to resolution. The higher the resolution, the finer the image detail and the bigger the image file size. The default setting is 150 dpi, however ≥400 dpi is a better quality scan. After you have chosen your settings, you can preview your image by clicking on the Preview button, or click Next to scan.

Preview:

You can adjust the size of the area scanned by adjusting the dashed line in the preview screen. You do not have to preview your document in order to scan it.

Picture Name and Destination:

The picture will be scanned to the My Documents folder → My Images → Scanned Images. You can change the destination if you want the picture to be saved to another location.

Once the image has been scanned, under other options, choose “Nothing, I’m finished working with these pictures” and click next in the Wizard. When you Click finish, your image will open up automatically.
